DocFam+ offers an attractive educational and professional environment. The location of ICMAB, and most partner institutions, in the UAB Campus represents the perfect setting for the recruited fellows to carry out their research projects. Although relatively young, UAB is currently in the top 3 best universities in Spain, and ranks high in the Europe list, according to Times Higher Education. Moreover, since 2009 the campus has been recognised as a Campus of International Excellence by the Spanish Ministry of Education.

The UAB has 65 PhD programmes,  over 4.000 Doctoral Candidates, from which the 38.3% are foreign researchers, and more than 800 theses defended each academic year. From 2014 the UAB holds the distinction HR Excellence in Research, which reflects its commitment to guarantee a suportive research environment.
